Thread: Nicolas Adams -where did he go?

My g/grandfather, Nicolas Adams, born 1857, St.Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands. There is no death record on the Island, his wife remarried very early into their marriage, I've searched and searched with no luck. I'm wondering if when he left Guernsey he didn't give the correct country he was born in?. How else could he be so elusive.
He is the last missing piece on my family tree.

Nicolas married 6 November 1881, he was there in the 1881 census but not the 1891. MaryAnn had her first child in the second marriage to Thomas Staunton by 1893, Lena Staunton. Nicolas disappears from the scene after the 1881 census.

Whilst Nicolas ADAMS last appeared on the 1881 CI Census, he appeared to father 4 children, the last Arichibald b circe 1888, by 1891 his 'widow' MAry has married Thomas STAUNTON, Nicolas appears to disappear in the period 1887 - 1891
