    Question Robert Prangnell

Robert Prangnell (possibly from Hampshire) married Hannah Danziel in Bloomsbury, London in 1815. They had several children, the last, Robert born about 1829, christened at St. sepulcher, London. The eldest son William was married in 1839 in London to Martha Collins. Their marriage record states the elder Robert was deceased. Robert was a tin plate worker.
I have searched the London records for details of his death, without luck. Does anyone have an information or can make any suggestions.

    Hello,
I was very interested in your post re Robert Prangnell. I have a Mark (Henry) Prangnell in my tree who married Louisa Collins at St. George's Camden in 1811. Mark was a tin plate worker from the Isle of Wight, Louisa was from the London area. They had several children in London, then moved to Wolverhampton/Birmingham and were there in 1841 and 1851. Mark died in 1853, Louisa in 1871.
They key point is that a witness at his wedding was a ROBERT Prangnell. I have not found his birth on the Isle of Wight, but I think he may be a brother of Mark and may well be the person you are researching - same surname, same job AND possible link with the Collins family through the marriage of William to Martha ?? I can give you more information if you are interested.

    Best wishes,

    Sue

    Hello

I did the reply for the above and noted the Mark PRANGNELL marriage to a COLLINS, and yes I made a note of the above observation, but decided i wouldn't sully the waters...the Mark PRANGNELL marriage has a private tree entry against it! William probably being MArk's nephew!

Yes, I can see your point - I was just interested in trying to connect Mark (Henry) with a Robert Prangnell (witness at wedding) as I have not been able to do so as yet. A lot of researchers seem to have info on the Prangnells who stayed on the Isle of Wight, but fewer on those who left the island in 1810s etc !!

Thanks, that is the closest I have seen. Certainly the date looks reasonable as his youngest child was born in 1829. The only other date I had to go on was his eldest son's marriage cert in 1839 where Robert Prangnell was listed as deceased.
Pilot.familysearch.org lists the name as Pragnell, the handwritten Parish records which I have now found, thanks to you all, lists Bragnell. All my life I was used to my name being pronounced & spelt incorrectly so this is a definite possibility.
