    Default Henry Lake

    Hi,

I wonder if someone can help please? I've just discovered a record for a Henry Lake who died during WWI on 13th January 1916. I wish to order his death certificate to either rule him in or out of the family tree. Is there anybody who is willing to look for his death record please?

    Many Thanks

    Mrsp

    Hi Elsabels and Hazelnut,

Thank you very much for your replies.

I have taken a look at the CWGC and found Henry on there. Unfortunately it doesn't give any other details apart from date of death, regiment, battalion, service number, place of birth and place of death.

Henry was born in Bromley on 15 May 1889 (he was John Lake's twin). I know he had links in Norfolk as his father was born in Grimston, Norfolk, which is why when I found his record I got so excited about seeing his place of birth as Bromley-by-Bow and he was in the Norfolk Regiment!

I've checked regular Death Indexes, but he doesn't appear there, so I'm assuming he must be on a register elsewhere. If I can find the record, I'm hoping I'll be able to send off for his death certificate which may give me more information and then work out whether it is the Henry Lake in my tree!

    Many Thanks again,

    Mrsp
