    Default Barnards in Wymondham

    Hi People

    Hi Super Sleuths.

Sophie Barnard 1802-83 had two children John c1831-2 and Robert c1835-1931. She never married and lived with Robert towards the end of her life.

I am unable to find any reference to the boys except through Censuses.

Also Robert's marriage to Mary Ann eludes me. I suspect this to be c1853 or 4.

Any pointers would be most welcome.

    Thank you

    Mark

    Hi Mark,

I've checked the IGI and John's birth is stated as 1832 and Robert's as 1836, both in Wymondham. No other information was given.

    Hi There Markf,
I wonder if this could be a connection to the family?

I found a Burial for Robert Barnard- Wymondham 7th May 1829.. Sophie was born you say 1802 so a possible thought is that Sophie may have had another son Robert who passed away before the 2nd Robert was born in 1836...Something for you to think about.. There are a few more Burials for the surname of Barnard -Wymondham on Family Search. Just wondered Markf if you had seen them or not?

    Hello Mark

The 2 sons appear to be shoemakers/ cordwainers and will be listed in Kelly's directory....

    Thank you everybody

I'll cross check everything and get back to you.

I'll have to get dau Rosa's b Cert to ascertain who Mary Ann definitely is.

I acknowledge the Woodcock marriage, but see no reason they should have married outside Wymondham. If the marriage was disapproved of would they have returned to the town and spend the rest of their lives there?

Congratulations to our new Moderators, and good luck to Starlight.

    Hello markf

    from freebmd.org

BARNARD Robert = REYNOLDS Mary Ann q1 1858 Norwich ( this cobers Forehoe) 4b 251

    BARNARD Rosanna Anna q2 1858 Forehoe 4b 171

BARNARD seems a fairly common name in the area you are searching!

    REYNOLDS was the mother, folks.

This has helped me produce one of the most perfect pedigrees I've done... Rock solid back to 1800 across all lines.

    Thanks for the help

    Mark ;-)
