Thread: Up date on Daniel Hogan !!

Hi me again !!

Well i have just recieved his death certificate and it gives Date and place of birth as .....

8th April 1906 Motherwell Scotland .

On 1911 census it says Scotland Hamilton Resident ( he is living in Wigan by now )

So i have been back to Scotlandpeople and looked at ALL the births for a male Hogan 1906 and not one of them is him !!!!!!!!!!!

Would the certificate ordering service be able to find a birth without the index nos. ?

Thank you Chris, after all this searching and head scratching it will be worth the fee just to find him !!!

I'll contact them on Monday , hopefully it bring me one step closer .

Hi Leta, I've searched for his birth but couldnt find him either, I'll continue to look for you incase i missed anything
Leta maybe he was born/baptised under his mothers name ! Maybe also worth trying is the local churches /chapels for a baptism /christening, you have a few places to try , like Motherwell and Hamilton in Scotland now.

Thank you Hazelnut , I had tried under his mothers maiden name ( no luck , what a surprise!!) but now i have excat details of his date and place of birth i can delve a little deeper . I think a celebration will be in order when i find the mystery man !

Hi all , i have just been on the phone to the very helpful Scottish GRO and they have taken all the details i have , and she said that should be sufficient to find the birth certificate , and i should have it within 5 working days !!!!!! it did cost more ....£13 but worth every penny if its the right one . I can't believe i may have almost cracked it , watch this space

I will be watching for sure Leta..Lets hope it the right one.
