    Default E.W.Farrell - Ireland Casualties 1914-1918

    Me again,

This time I have a slightly different request because I don't really know how to move forwards with this. In my family we have an Edward William Farrell who disappears completely after the 1911 Ireland census. My gt grandmother always said that her brothers were killed in the War but I've never been able to find any proof of that, in fact, one of them emigrated to Australia in 1914, followed by another in 1926, however, she had four brothers and one half brother. So I've accounted for Frederick Farrell, he emigrated in 1914 as did Thomas Farrell in 1926. Her half brother Isaac Farrell stayed in Belfast and married and had children some of whom still live in Belfast. That leaves John James Farrell born 1890 in Carrickfergus and Edward William Farrell born 1896 Cheshire unaccounted for.

I did find the following though -

Ireland Casualties of World War 1, 1914- 1918 and it says - E.W.Farrell (Eddie) Rank, Signaller, Irish Horse; killed in action, December 12 1917

I got this off Ancestry but unfortunately theres no service number and I haven't been able to find anything else on Ancestry, FindMyPast or the CWGC website. Short of visiting Kew, which I don't have the time to do, what else can I do to find out more and whether this person is the Edward I'm looking for?

(Edwards parents were Peter/Patrick Farrell born abt 1866 Edgeworthstown, Longford or Haddington, Scotland and Elizabeth Hartfield Born abt 1866 Woolwich, Kent)

I'd appreciate any thoughts or help on this matter....thanks!

Hi Charonngfh, i'm searching for Isaac Farrell who i belive to be my great great grandfarther who moved from Belfast, Ireland to Bolton, UK around the end of the 1800's. Did you ever find anything on him?
