Could be something or nothing?

You state your Gt Grandmother was Hannah..I wonder if she might have been named so after her Grandmother?


On Family Search there are a few Baptisms -Tottenhill...Eggett.


30th March 1823 Robert Baptised..Mother's name Hannah Eggett

Fathers name John Eggett..Tottenhill



24th May 1829 James Eggett Baptised Tottenhill..Mothers name Hannah..Fathers name John Eggett



James Eggett
born 1822 ..Burial 1838 13th December..No Parents names

No Parents names
10th January 1826 Mary Eggett Burial



On the 1861 Census there is also a Christopher Eggett down as Head aged 46 years born
Tottenhill.

On the 1861 Census for Spalding there is a John Eggett down as Servant aged 19 years.

All of the above found on Family Search using the Pilot Search method..Advance Search.

Might be a good idea if you have not already done so to have a look and see what turns up for you with your searching. There are four pages of Eggett for the county of Lincolnshire so maybe they travelled about...

If I find anything more will add to this thread.

A good number of Eggett surnames for Downham Market..For Baptisms and Marriages..Did not check Burials out.

Hi, Have just been reading another of your posts about Eggett and you wrote...

I think the name James must have a strong link to Sarah's forebears because she had a son James Eggett..




Hannah and John had a son James as stated above.
