I have a distant relative on the 1901 census a Edward Ac Kingdon born 1877 in Wolverhampton and as a occupation it has him as a soldier of the Rmlj. Does anyone know what unit/force this is?

I think it stands for Royal Marine, Poss Junior Lt. Try looking for him in Naval/Marine records.
