Thread: cant find a birth : Frederick Wacey 1870

Frederick Wacey was age 9 months in 1871 census, but I cant find his birth.

siblings born Hackney, London.
all census records say Fred was born Hackney or shoreditch. (I have all census records)

family listed as Wacey, Waley and Wacup on different census (or transcription errors.

father was: Robert Wacey
mother was: Eliza Prosser (i think)

I have all census records, just cant find a birth. any ideas?

The closest I can see on Free BMD is :- Frederick George Veazey Sep Q 1890 Hackney 1b/473. I have not checked if this name appears on 1891 census.

yes that is his death - i have the certificate, he died of TB leaving a wife and 8 young children, i have his marriage cert - so have been able to confirm his parents that way - just confused why his birth isnt registered. have been looking for a long time and tried many variations of name... strange !

I cannot find wither of these children's birth / baptism entry's

I did find twins

William Robert & Arthur Burton WACEY sns of Robert & Eliza Ann WACEY bp 21/07/1869 St Augustine Haggerstone

The only marriage is to Eliza A PROSSER 1859.....but I cannot find on the 1861 census!

Eliza had died before 1891, Robert is shown as a widower with dau Sarah Ann RG 12 0206

Robert was born 24 nov 1840 (have birth cert).
couldnt prove Eliza prosser was the right mother without one of the childrens birth certs. I think i will apply for it anyway now and see if i can link later.
there was a son William Robert Wacey - b 01 June 1866 Shoreditch, died 1877 (age 12 Hackney)
1871 census: Robert, 31, carpenter with Eliza (40) WIlliam 9%) and Fred (9months)
1874 ? daughter Sarah Ann (couldnt find birth)
1881 - transcribed as WACUP. Robert 40, Eliza 50, Fredk 10 (bn. Haggerston), Sarah ann 8 (bn. south hackney).
1885 - death of wife Eliza, age 55 in Hackney.
1891 - transcribed as WALEY. Robert (50), frederick (20 haggerston), sarah a (18 Hackney)
1901 Robert (60) & sarah ann (27 born bow)
1908 - Robert died of Pulmonary Tuberculosis.
His son Fred died 9 months later.
1901 - robert widow, with sarah ann

not sure they are twins... but thank you anyway. I wonder of they were just baptised together.

ive got william robert on 1871 census- he died aged 12.
