Thread: Frederick Francis Dunkelman b. 5 Feb 1920

Hi,

I was hoping someone out there could help with this one. I'm trying to find out the parents of Freddie 'Joe' Dunkelman or Frederick Francis Dunkelman b. 5th Feb 1920, in East Ham, London.

I think his mother was Louisa Dale, and his father Henry Dunkelman, although I'm not 100% sure about his father's name. He had siblings called Henry, John, Florence, & Edward, who were born from 1912 until 1926 all in East Ham, London.

I would appreciate it if someone could look-up Fred's parents in the 1911 census or maybe their wedding /or his birth cert. I can't seem to find any trace of
them .

Many thanks for finding that info.

I found a possible emigration record for Henry & Louisa in 1923, along with their children (no mention of Winifred) which included Frederick bound for Canada. It mentioned Louisa, and a grandfather who was named Fred Dale back in Plaistow. They were bound for Midland, Ontario where an uncle L Dunkelman was living. It stated they were C.O.E. though, surely they were jewish ?

Any thoughts ?

Hi,

I found out who the L Dunkelman in Canada was. He was Louis, brother of Henry, he lived in Midland, Ontario next door to his mother Gretchen (who died there in 1928). Although I'm not sure when Henry died.

It seems Henry was an inmate of the Philanthropic Society Farm school in Reigate, Surrey in 1901, and would love to know why he was in there.
