I would dearly love to know where he's hiding in 1901.
1. In 1924 Violet Lilian May Souden b 1902 Windsor at her marriage to Albert Sudlow in Windsor stated her father was Henry Souden, a General Labourer. Have you found on 1911 census?
2. Violet's mother was Rose Lilian Joel b 1885 Windsor. She married Henry Sowden, a Groom who was aged 20. 1901 RG13 1170 shown as JAEL
3. His father is said to be William deceased, a Coachman. That's wishful thinking as he was a Shepherd, a Brickie's Labourer and an Ag Lab.
4. Harry Sowden appears aged 9 in the 91 Census for 17 Athertons Yard, Brocus Street, Eton, Buckinghamshire, supposedly born in Winkfield, Berkshire. He is with William as daddy who conveniently dies in 1893 to keep the "facts", as stated, authentic. He has two siblings born in Winkfield also. Parents and other siblings address 17 Boat House Street ( on prev page)
5. In 1881 William is in Winkfield, so the odds are in favour..... however Births Sep 1881 Sowden Harry Easthampstead which covers Warfield where a couple of his siblings were born.Easthampstead the registration district covering BINFIELD: CROWTHORNE: SANDHURST: WARFIELD: EASTHAMPSTEAD
6. Henry's marriage to Rose is the only Sowden/Joel nuptuals and there were Sowden Joel babies being born in Windsor and Eton as late as 1929.
7. Rose died Eton in 1939 aged 54, and Harry Sowden dies in Sep Qtr 1942 aged 62 in Windsor which agree with their births.
I have tried SODEN; SOWDEN; SOUDEN,; *DEN; *DON all to no avail. I have access to both Findmypast and Ancestry.
I need someone else's take on it.
Thank you all
