    Default Settlement papers?

I have a Maria Huntfield who was bapt 7 Jan 1799 in Tuxford, Nottinghamshire and then married a William Ball on 29 September 1832 in Elsenham, Essex.

I dont know what year she set off for Elsenham and I dont know if she travelled with William or not. I dont know where William was born because he died before the 1851 census. According to the 1841 he was born out of county and in 1802. Thats all I have on him. I know people moved for work purposes however by the 1841 Maria was, Im assuming, a stay at home mum (they had 4 kids by then) while William went out and groomed horses for a crust.
Would there be any settlement records/papers I might be able to access online to see if she/they would be recorded and if so where would I be able to access these?

I cant get to any record offices as Im in Australia

    1841 Census
BALL, William 1802 Maria 1796 George 1825 born out of county
    Sarah 1836 Maria F 3 1838 Mary 1839 born Essex

Is George b1825 a son of Maria's from a previous marriage who as taken her new husbands name or was he born out of wedlock. Could he be a brother to William or a son from a previous marriage?

Find the link between George and William might be the way of finding William's birth place / family.

thanks noggin28. Ive tried looking for George but no luck there either. As I dont know where he was born, looking for him in the 1851 census is impossible. There are so many George Balls, but none living in Elsenham.

I have all Maria and Williams childrens bap records but of course George is not there. He may even be Williams son from his first marriage. Possibilities are endless right now and I wont be able to do any further research on these guys until I find a birth place.

This is why Im thinking if I can find some sort of settlement record for either Maria or William, it may lead me on to some more clues.
