Thread: Decyphering help needed

Attached here is a page from the 1871 census in jpeg format.

I need help in :-

1. Decyphering the street name in column 2
2. Decyphering in the "Where Born" column the place against the Mary A Smith entry, i.e. 4th entry down in the "Where Born" column which is "Devon ????????".

Any help please ?

On later returns she shows as Exeter

Her husband is George b bridgewater Somerset

I think its 7, Forty Acre Lane. Ancersty has transcibed the birthplace as Nethuix, Essex, which is clearly wrong. I will look at later census.

I did get it that in the 1881 census that Jeffrey Smith became George Smith and that he was born in Bridgwater.
