    Default military records

I am trying to find the military record of John Binns, born in India in 1812.His parents were John and Mary. We know he was back in Yorkshire by 1834 when he got married, but have nothing in between.
He married Ann Morton in elland ,halifax, west yorkshire.

    Hello

What leads you to think he had a war record...and in what timeframe?

he was 22 when he married in Elland Yorks!

It is likely that his father was involved with th East India Trading Company, who traded between Europe and India eventually setting up an Army there, the company goes back to the last day of the year 1600 not sure when that was a it was the julian calendar! for further info google this to get a history lesson!

There is also a Famillies in British India Society with loadsa info www.FBIS.org

There is a poss 1812 baptismal entry at www.recordpilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch

20 December 1812 John BINNS s/o John & Mary BINNS Meerut Bengal India

burial 19/11/1811 Ellen BINNS desc as white d/o John BINNS Merat Bengal India

    Good Hunting

    Hi, Thanks for that.
We were told by a relative he was in the army inIndia, though we did think this was unlikely! Must have been his father. The baptism record you found is correct.
    Thanks again.
