    Default 1841 and 1851 census look-up please

    Hi,

I was wondering whether anyone would be kind enough to look up a person on the 1841 and 1851 census, please?

I'm looking for Mary Lewis, b 1835. Father Evan Lewis who was a miner (in 1853 when she married).

According to censuses after her marriage, she was born in Pencal, Monmouthshire. According to her marriage certificate she was living in Gwm Mawr and they married in the parish of ystradgynlais, Brecon.

Any help in locating her would be greatly appeciated.

    Many Thanks

    Mrsp

    Hi Shirl,

Thanks for your reply. I've had a closer look at one of the later censuses and it says Penycae, Monmouthshire.

    Sorry about the confusion!

I have looked at all combinations but as you will appreciate Mary with a father EVAN is a common combination.

WHo are the witnesses on the marriage certificate

    Thanks Elsabels,

I realise that Mary, Evan and Lewis are popular welsh names. This side of my husband's tree has been a nightmare! LOL

The witnesses were George Harries (I'm pretty sure it's that and not Harris) and Mary Nicholas.

    Many Thanks,

    Mrsp
