Thread: duncan family.

can anyone help me find the parents of clarisa duncan please, details i have are, clarisa duncan b 1886 west newton yorkshire, i believe her mother was called betsy duncan. and guessing she married william duncan born 1830, i may be wrong but like to know just in case, appreciate any help thank you.

I have found Clarissa in 1871 as grandaughter to a Jane Brown, born West Newton - so went to find the possible marriage of her parents and found this..

William Duncan to Betsey Brown Dec Qtr 1858 (vol 9d pg 474) Skirlaugh Reg District which covers West Newton. So it's likely that Jane was Betsey's mother.

Jane Brown 66 b Garton, Yorks
Thomas Brown 28 b West Newton, Yorks - Son
