Thread: BUCHANAN John Robert

Help! I cant find my Buchanans. Looking for parents of John Robert b either 1841 Dumbarton, Scotland (from his 1919 Australian Death Certificate) or 1843 Loch Lomond, Scotland (from his 1874 Australian Marriage record).
On the Marriage cert his parents are recorded as George Buchanan (Landed Proprietor) and Elizabeth Stewart. On his death cert parents recorded as George Buchanan (Inderpendent means) and Elizabeth Jane Stewart.
John came to Australia at approx age 17 around 1858, this from his death cert stating he had been in Australia 61 years.
Any help greatly appreciated

Kilmadock, Perth birth place..

Address 56 Main St..

County..Perthshire

With him is Elizabeth wife age 53 ..born about 1798 Port, Perth

Elizabeth daughter age 22 years born about 1829 Kilmadock, Perth..Profession Cotton Wynder..

Caist, thanks for response, not sure these are my Buchanans as I've been told somewhere along the line that this Elizabeth is a Smellie Bogle or the other way round and not a Stewart. Still no way of proving or disproving this though.
