Thread: Ann Ackley..Born abt 1831

I Have found an Ann Ackley on the census for 1891 Leicestershire. The name reads as Chin Ackley but when you view the Census although hard to read the name is Ann and she is down as Widow. I can,t seem to find this Ann on any other Census so wonder if I could get some help with this one please..I believe the place name should be COUNTESTHORPE not Bunterhorpe, Leicestershire.

Hi Marion, I can find nothing in the census. I even tried Ashley! no luck the only death I found was a William Ackley age 77 Seo qr 1894 leicester7a 113, this does not coincide with your 1891 census of Ann as a widow. I think there are some really bad transcriptions out there & we are going to struggle to find some ancestors. Would you happen to know her maiden name?

Pejay, Many thanks for your help. Sorry to say I know nothing about Ann. If you can find any Ackley's born in Leicestershire I would appreciate you or another AA member letting me know.. I,m trying to match them up and perhaps with a bit of luck on my side tie them in with mine..
