Thread: Henry Minchinton 1861 and Death please

Hi,
Henry Minchinton was born in Stalbridge, Dorset in 1827.
He married Maria in 1846.
I have complete census records until 1861 when the family is listed (still in Stalbridge ref. RG 9/1329) but a line has been drawn through Henry's details and "absent" written. Where was he? What was he up to?
I think Henry dies before the 1871 census but I can't find a death record for him either.

(NB There is another Henry Minchinton born c. 1823 near Yeovil in Somerset. He is on the 1861 census with his wife Mary and children. He died in 1869. this is a different chap to my Henry!)

As always, apologies if I'm missing something obvious here, but help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Gravenor, found the marraige for Henry S. Minchinton to Maria Harris 5 april 1846 Stalbridge, Dorset.
Maria Harris b. 1818 Father Daniel Harris ..mother Lucy Duffet. Cant find a death for him .

I've actually been able to find out quite a lot about his ancestry - it's just the last ten years or so of his life and his death date that has me stumped!
