Thread: Ramsden of Wakefield-Yorkshire

Hello Everyone
I am trying to trace the family of John Willam Ramsden
I believe his father was Albert and his mother was Alice nee Smith
My da was sent to Australia aged nine and remained here but lost contact with his family.
I believe he also had siblings a brother and a sister. They lived at 24 mollacres yard Wakefield, I have tried to google this address but I dont think it exists any more. Please if any one has any information anything please contact me.
any information great or small I have been searching for years and am getting nowhere.

Who is John William Ramsden, your father or grandfather. Ie was he born in the 1940,s 1920's ? some info on dates would be useful. Where did he end up at in Australia. 9yrs seems young to be sent alone to Australia, was it to relatives or had his parents died and he was sent as an orphan?

From a previous post you stated John was born on the 13 th June 1913, this is nearest birth I could find reg Wakefield with the mother's surname Smith.

If Albert and Alice are Johns parents they were living with Alice's parents in 1901. You will need to buy/check the birth cert to be certain.
