Can someone see if they can find a Charles Butler prior to 1881.He was born abt 1847/48 Westminster and his fathers name was Charles.He married Matilda Tarrant 3 Jul 1876 St Mary Newington.At the time of marriage his father was shown as a messenger.

With such a common name I am not sure if I am any farther ahead.The 1876 marriage gives his age as 29, the 1881 census gives his age as 33 and the 1891 census gives his age as 43 and both census show Westminster as place of birth.I know his wife knocked a couple of years off her age for the marriage certificate.
