Thread: Complicated Collins?

Good morning all,

I need some assistance, if any one is able to give it.

I am looking at a line in my tree and feel a little lost.

Henry Joseph Moore b 1898 married Alice May/Mary Collins b 1901 17 Aug 1921.

Alice Collins father is listed as Alfred John Collins (French Polisher)

I can not find the birth of Alice Collins in the london baptisms.

The only people on the 1901 Census that I can conceivably think are the right family - Class: RG13; Piece: 168; Folio: 132; Page: 40.

Now comes the confusion. The census shows the marriage of Alfred John and Harriet E. So I go and check out the marriages. No listing!
All I was able to find was Alfred Joseph Collins m Harriet Elizabeth. Now everything on the certificate fits, b1869. the marriage was in 1897 (May), which does not tally with the oldest child on the census.

I have looked at this over and over again and just think I need some fresh eyes.

wow!! Sorry took so long to reply, been off doing other things.

Thank you so much for your help, I am going to crack on and see what else I can uncover now.

Sometimes it is just fresh eyes, spot something you do not!

I did not realise that the baptisms were still being transcribed, so thanks for that, there are a few missing ancestors I have and just did not think that I was seeing them! lol.
