    Default Looking for a marriage.

    Hello,

Would someone help me find a marriage after 1892 of these 2 surnames please?

    SHEWARD and POUNTNEY.

I know they had a son Donald in 1914 , registered in Kidderminster District.
The families have lived in Worcestershire for the last 250 years.

    Roberto.

I think Roberto has seen the birth record for Donald, which gives the mohers maiden name as Pountney.

    Hi Roberto,

I cannot find a marriage. It could be that Pountney was her maiden name, she had been married before and re-married using her maiden name which was allowed. I will have another look at this later if no one has found her.

I assume you are looking for the parents of this Donald :

England & Wales, FreeBMD Birth Index, 1837-1915
Name: Donald S Sheward Year of Registration: 1914
Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun Mother's Maiden Name: Pountney
District: Kidderminster County: Hereford and Worcester Volume: 6c Page: 183

England & Wales, Marriage Index: 1916-2005
Name: Donald S Sheward, Spouse Surname: Hinsley, Martha E
    Date of Registration: Apr-May-Jun 1937
Registration district: Kidderminster Registration county (inferred): Worcestershire
Volume Number: 6c Page Number: 275

England & Wales, Death Index: 1916-2005
Name: Donald Stanley Sheward Birth Date: 9 Mar 1914
Death Registration Month/Year: Feb 1985 Age at death (estimated): 70
Registration district: Kidderminster Inferred County: Worcestershire Volume: 29 Page: 572

The Birth or Marriage cert would give the fathers name, this would seem to be the best option.
'' No one knows who we are or where we are going until we have been and gone ''.

    Researching the following families;
Kitchin & Sharpe, Cumberland, Canada, USA : Dixon, Lancashire, Westmorland, USA
Fell & Hanslow, Warwickshire, Staffordshire, USA Australia.
    Guess, Buckinghamshire : Meakins, Northamptonshire

Dear Milford Lass, Starlight and dear old Noggin the nog!

I would like very much for helping me and for what you have found out. This query as been bugging me for several years now and yes certificates would answer most of my questions. Sorry for the late reply but i needed time to get over the frightening news that the country may be lead by a bunch of Con (big C) men!!!!!!!!!

    Roberto.

    Roberto,

I'll thro' my 10 pennyworth in......

The Sheward/ Pountney marriage is 1969... not impossible but why wait that long to get married.

The orig event was around WW1...have you thought of the possibility that the mother was already a married lady, that the child 's father is SHEWARD but the parties never married....I think you need to invest in the birth certificate of Donald b 1914

    Elsabels
