Hi Noggin28
S.W.B. stands for Silver War Badge.
This link will give you more information on why it was awarded.

Hi I watched a program this evening that mentioned the SWB. They said it was mainly awarded to people who had been discharged from service due to being injured or wounded. They wore the badge on their lapel and they also said that it stopped young girls going up to them and giving them a white feather (which stood for cowardice) as the badge confirmed active service had been seen.
I am not sure it confirmed active service - and certainly not that they were at the Front. My ancestor joined up in 1916, and during his basic training was injured in a training accident. He was demobbed with a compensation payment and also a Silver War badge. We still have both the badge and some of the papers relating to his compensation. So he never left the country, was only active for a few months in training, and never saw actual war service.
