Default Trying to find Parrington Family

    Morning ...

Just wondering if any one would like to help me with a bit of a family dilemma please..

Ive just found out that my Grandma and her sister had two more sisters, which is fantastic news, but theres a but coming on but the free BMD it has different surnames for the mother, which sounds more like they are half sisters to the other two but the dates dont tally up correctly, I will write the information below for help

    Betty Parrington ( my nan ) b 1923 COOK
    Mona Parrington b 1921 COOK

The two sisters I have just found out about goes

    Susannah Parrington b 1928 NUTTALL
    Hilda Parrington b 1930 NUTTALL

Ive looked up a marriage for Mary Cook and found that she married a Edward Nuttall in June 1912.

So whats puzzling me is that she was Nuttall when Betty and Mona was born... or am I wrong..

I am 99 % psitive that Richard Parrington was my great grandfather, and I'm finding it hard work to find the Parrington line also...

The family is from Burnley Lancashire

Thankyou very much for your help

    Hello

Betty & Mona appear to be the children of PARRINGTON/COOK

There is a marriage in q3 1919 BURNLEY for Richard PARRINGTON to a Mary E COOK

Death Richard PARRINGTON d 1956 Burnley aged 72

    This could be your family.

As regards the other names I cannot instantly find a marriage between PARRINGTON / NUTTALL, but that doesnot mean there isn't one, it may not have been 'listed yet'!

I presume that there is a GI link here somewhere.....!

As this could be about living persons PM me if you require further assistance

There is a death in Mar quarter 1927

    Mary E Parrington 60
    Preston
    8e 1077

She appears to be a bit old but not impossible. Non of the other deaths around that time are much younger either. Another possibility is that there was a divorce involved.

Do you know that Susannah and Hilda were members of your family or have you just seen the names on bmd ? Did you meet both Mary and Richard when you were young ?

    Evening...

I have just recently found my Aunt Monas children on Facebook and her daughter told me about a Sue ( Hampson, married name ) if I'm in contact with her, I told her I never knew she had another sister, I kind of figured there was an Hilda, and asked my uncle he said yes she was daft as a brush thats all ( in a nice way)

I posted a message to Aunt Monas daughter today and asked about her grandmas maiden name all she said is she thought it was Nuttall, so there is something there I'm not quite sure...

But on another site I looked up transcribes and the other stuff and it said both mothers of Betty (my nan) and Monas mother was a cook...

    Thankyou to you both....

All the sisters have passed not sure about Sussannah though...

Never met my greats on that side think it was an old family, only met Mona my nans sister when she came over from the U.S.

    Thankyou for replying

    Hi,

I had assumed that the marriage to Richard Parrington was the first marriage. If the Edward you found was the right one there is a death for an Edward Nuttall in Burnley in 1914. Again the age looks a bit old. I think it might pay you to purchase the marriage certificate of Mary E and Richard. This will confirm if she was a widow at marriage.

    Hello

    SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!

    If you go to www.Lancashirebmd.org.uk

you will find your marriage query under year 1919

Mary Elizabeth Nuttall / Mary E COOK married Richard PARRINGTON at Burnley Reg Off

MAry E NUTTAL m EDWARD COOK 1912 Burnley Stalbans ( St Paul)
    as shown buy Starlight.

Burnley Library or Lancashire RO may look for the church record.entires for the cost of p/coy & p&P! Google for addresses

It is likely that the 4 people are full sisters, the transcriber has picked up either / or the 2 different surnames of the mother ....

My mothers maiden and 1st marriage name appear on my birth cert.....different sites show me with the same mother but different surnames!
