Thread: Thomas Ashwell Shoreditch

I am trying to find birth/christening details for Thomas Ashwell. I know from the 1841 census that he was born around 1806 in Shoreditch and that he was listed there as an inn keeper? (hard to read but I think thats what he was. He seems to disappear before the 1851 census and his children seem to be in the workhouse.

My info has come from ancestry.

Any help or suggestions would be really useful

Is the mother with the children in 1851 if so see also if it says widow .

Hi Elsabels, Hazelnut and Chris for your help. his wife was Elizabeth Michason. Mickalson or something like that. It is really difficult to read the marriage certificate. I think she must have died also as the children are listed as living in the workhouse.

Theres 2 deaths in Shoreditch presuming she died there, but check it out anyway.
