Thread: Trying to confirm Alfred James Davies

I have a birth certificate for John William Davies born 29 may 1901 at 12 Wiltshire Row Shoreditch (Hoxton Old Town) Parents are named as Alfred James Davies and Florence Amy Davies (nee Burcombe) ( I Have their marriage certificate)



Here is my problem. I do not know which Alfred James is the correct one as there are three listed born in Islington.



From the marriage certificate i conclude that he was born around 1875, but from 1901 census it works out to 1978

If you refer back to Alfred and Florence’s marriage certificate you will note that one of the witnesses is a William Roger Davies and father William Davies is a house decorator – I researched this name and found

Researching the siblings Elizabeth Agnes’ christening record shows that she was born 6 Sept. 1867 – Father William (paper hanger) living 9 Glass House Y(yard?)
