    Hi

Perhaps someone can throw some light on the death of Sidney Edward Maryon. Born Mar 1894 Maryon Sidney Edward W. Ham 4a 315 His Parents were Jessica and George Maryon. On the 1911 census they record 5 children one of who has died. Sidney's name is struck through, and a line has been drawn all through the entry. I can not find a death for him. Any sugestions, please....

    Hi Brian,

Have you searched for him elsewhere in 1911. Just because he isn't at home on the night that the census was taken doesn't neccessarily mean he was dead.

    Hi,

Someone has put an image of the Edith Lyng and Sidney Marion marriage on Ancestry. Father of Sidney is James Maryon.

Thanks for all the replies. On the 1911 census the parents, George and Jessica Maryon show 5 children being born with only 4 living. Sidney's name is crossed out, which leads me to believe he is the one that has died. Particularly as he is on the 1901 census (Class: RG13; Piece: 1613; Folio: 103; Page: 25.) I have done a search for him on the 1911, just incase he is away from home with no result.

    Where do I go now?

    Hi Brian,

I found this death by searching for a Sidney Edward ?, b. c1894, then trawling through to the Ms. I cannot find a birth for him or any other info. A Sidney Merriman does appear in someone's tree, but it's not the same man as this one. My eyes and brain are a bit tired, so I may have missed something, so maybe another look is needed to either rule him out/in. I'm working on the fact that Maryon and Merriman sound fairly similar?!

    Name: Sidney Edward Merriman

    Birth: 4 Oct 1894

    Death: West Glamorgan, Glamorganshire, Wales

    Death: Jul-Aug-Sep 1972

    Regards Mrsp

    Hello

This census was taekn on the 02/04/1911

Without appearing rude, have you looked carefully at the 1911 census sheet for this family.

Sometimes and enumerator can add notes to the sheet, presumably he 'stood on the doorstep' checking the netries with the signatory! Any adjusyments could have been made in a differnt coloured ink! The enumerator would have initialed the form to confirm any amendments.
