Is there anyone in your family history that you would love to have met for me it would be my Great Great Grandfather Charles Hearn, he was a licencee for most of his life, one of the things that he did do was to manage "The Gaiety Theatre of Variety" in Hanley and other locations. I have several newspaper articles about him being fined for serving drinks after hours! Does anyone know how I could find out more about this?
Hi - yes there are 2 people I would like to have met [well more really] my Graandmother from Ireland - I could ask her where exactly she was born in Ireland and likewise my ggggg Grandfather only he was born somewherein Northumberlandhave you the names of the newspapers? you may find something in the county archives, or failing that how about using a search engine on the names of the pubs/clubs and see what comes up.

Searching for Twizell, Brown & Storey from Northumberland. Kelly & Kinsella from Ireland, Parkinson from Lincolnshire. Mellor from Derbyshire and Jackson from Warwickshire.
It was in the 19th Century newspapers on-line at the local library. I am planning to go and visit some of the local record offices, the problem is that I have him born in Suffolk, living in London, Devon, The Midlands, Northumberland and Essex that I know off.
