I need to find a birth or baptism record for Samuel Hart before I can go any further back. According to a newspaper article from 1925 about a Hart family reunion held by my great-great-grandfather, the family emigrated from Scotland to Ireland in 1785. According to Samuel's marriage record, he married Charlotte Marrow (spelled Harrow on the transcription) on November 2nd, 1807 in St. Columb's Parish, Co. Derry. This should indicate that he was born about 1789. Samuel and Charlotte's sons were named Thomas, James, Samuel Jr., Solomon, Moses, and William - so if they did follow the traditional naming patterns, I at least know that the third one fits, but I don't know the names of Samuel Sr.'s father or Charlotte's father. I have contacted St. Columb's, and they confirmed that the marriage record does not list their parents' names. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

HART: Samuel Hart (born abt. 1790) married Charlotte Marrow in St. Columb's Parish on 2 Nov 1807. They lived in Ardagh, County Donegal before travelling on the brig Ontario, arriving in New York on 23 July 1834, where they lived in Kendall, Orleans County. From there, the family moved to St. Clair County, Michigan, sometime between 1855 and 1860, possibly following Samuel's death.

    They had eight children:

Thomas Hart (1811-1892) - remained in Orleans County, NY, until his death.

James Hart (1813-1889) - married Jane Kirk (b. 1825, parents William and Anne Kirk of Mullanboys, County Donegal) on 15 Mar 1841, arrived in NY on the RMS Britannia on 24 Jun 1842; moved to St. Clair County, MI.

Samuel Hart (1816-1890) - moved to Attica, Wyoming, sometime before 1860.

Solomon Hart (1818-1890) - moved to Michigan

    Mariana Hart (1820- )

    Elizabeth Hart (1822- )

Moses Hart (1824-1896) - moved to Michigan

William Hart (1826-1911) - remained in Orleans County, NY, until his death.

Yes, that's as much as I know; I posted that two weeks ago. I thought I'd ask for help with something more specific this time.

No - as I mentioned in my post from a few weeks ago, the only mention of Scotland is from a newspaper clipping from 1925, which stated that the family had emigrated to Ireland from there around 1785. Samuel Hart was married in St. Columb's Parish in Co. Derry in 1807, and emigrated to New York in 1834; his son James was married in Inver Parish in Co. Donegal in 1841, listed as living in Ardagh, and emigrated to New York the following year. With that said, I don't know that Samuel and his family ever lived in Donegal, I only know of those two records that mention where they each lived at that particular time.
