Thread: Glendinning/ Nicol

I am trying to find an Agnes Glendinning that married William Nicol. I do not know the year or location. Their child Mary Nicol was born 2-May-1801 at Merton,Berwickshire,Scotland. These parents names are listed on the death record I have for Mary Nicol McBeth.Mary Nicol married James McBeth on 7-May-1821 in Stirling, Scotland.

I would like some opions as to where I should start my search for records on these folks. I have the world records on Ancestry.com, but it is no help.

Being from America, I have almost no knowledge of Scotlands record keeping and where to go to find those records. Thanks for any help you can offer.Robin

Try the following site which is pay to view. This is the best place for Scottish research but as your dates are before 1855 when civil registration began in Scotland, the amount of information will be limited as from the old parish records.

Hi Dixiedaisy. went on cyndis list , found Scotland and found a marraige for

Agnes Glendinning to William Nichol 20 May 1757 Kelso, Roxburgh, Scotland

she wouldve been in her 50's when she had Mary.
