Hi Elsabels,
Thank you for your reply. You found the correct Kett/Goodson marriage. Elizabeth Goodson was my grandfather's half sister'd half sister-if that makes any sense!![]()
I thought I had found Cordy in 1911, but his last name was Yovell, which has obviously been mistranscribed, but from what you've found, it makes sense!
Now to try to discover Florence's maiden name!
Many Thanks once again
Mrsp
Hello mrsp
The maiden name may need the purchase of a marriage cert! Remember they increase in price to £9.25 at the end of the month
One way is to filter your search with just the fornames, the birth date and place of birth, presume you have from the 1911 census...and post
Elsabels
Wonder if you put in Yeoulls on freebmd and see what comes up, you might find Florence's father .
The only marraige i found was to Alfred James Kett 1902 Norwich.
Hello
Looking at the info we have
Florence Maria b circa 1868/1871 Swainsthorpe or Newton Flotman or Laseby, these semmto come under the BMD district of Henstead Norfolk.
The only one I can find is Florence Maria Cowell 1870 Oct-Nov-Dec Norfolk 4b 177
I think you will need to purchase the marriage cert of either of her marriages.
Both should state who her father is...which will give her maiden name!
The price of certs increases on 1 April tp £9.25
Elsabels

Think your looking at buying both marraige certificates Mrsp, to be certain![]()
Hello mrsp
Florence Maria? born circa 1870 ....a gamble, epecially to research a family to find later on you have gone down the wrong route.
My calculations were purely off the dtaes 1868/1871 and looking at a map to see how the areas related to one another. She could of course have been registered as plain Florence!!!!!
It is important to be accurate in our research and I think this is one of those times when confiormation need to be sort.......
i agree both certs, but would opt for the 2nd marriage cert which should give you her maiden name as well as YOUELL and her fathers' fore and surname....the bonus is you get witnesses as well
I would get a request in before the prices rise!
Elsabels
Hi Elsabels and Hazelnut,
Thank you once again for your replies. I shall look into ordering one of the certficates-and quickly!
Regards
