    Hello

I have a LOUIS LANDON b 1885 - 1943 Manchester, he is on the 1891 census with his remarried mother Selina Broad, to 1911 when he is with his wife's family. It is his ancestor I am interested in.

On Louis's birth cert 1885 M/cr his father is shown as:

HUGH PHILIP LANDON medical ass't 37 Byrom St M/cr ( this is 'round the corner from the old M/cr skin hosp!)

In 1887 HPL is in court for what appears to be 'unlawfully attempting to kill and murder himself' ( England & Wales Criminal record 1792 - 1887)

On marriage 1885 Bradford Registry Officed he is desc'd as:

'of full age, widower, medical ass't, 169 Thornton Road Bradford,' his father:

HUGH THOMAS LANDON (deceased at 1885) Captain in the Army

witnesses to marriage: Thos Lancaster / (Jnos T?) Clarke

Need leads on Hugh P & Hugh T please

    Thank you

    Deaths Jun 1872 (>99%)

    LANDON Lewis Philip 23 Whitechapel 1c 241

this lewis appears to be nearly as elusive as your branch...

    found him in 1861:

Thomas Lauden, head , widower, 56, 1805, tailor, whitechapel.

Lewis P Lauden, son, unmarried, 13, 1848, scholar, stepney.

living 29 Trapping hill, wapping wall, shadwell.

    just a thought !

    Hello lisabyrne

When I hadn't had any responses I knew it wasn't only me that cannot find this elusive family, but I have an admission to make it is for a friend ( on clearing out papers he turned up with birth and marriage certs and asked me what to do with them!)

The answer was easy, he knows very little about the Landon's ( loads about his maternal grandmothers family the Hall's)

He also has another side of the family that is a mystery so watch this space, mine are easy same village and area to this day all ag labs, well maybe not today!!!

Will have a look at your findings now

Thanks for the time spent in looking

    Elsabels
