Is anyone able to help me find these two on the 1851 census?

Robert was born in Harewood, Yorkshire c. 1823 and Margaret in Chirton Northumberland in 1824.

They married in Westminster in 1849 and their first child was born in London in 1850. I have found this child on the 1851 census - but up in Yorkshire with her grandparents - can't find her parents. I have them back together in 1871 living in Newcastle so they didn't die! I don't know why they were in London - possibly in service?

Sorry if I'm missing something obvious and thanks for any help.

Thank you noggin28 - it does sound exactly right - I'm guessing Margaret isn't with him at that address? Again, I've always drawn a blank when putting in her details. Wonderful to have a reference number from you - THANK YOU! (Just re-checked 1901censusonline.com and it definitely doesn't throw up this entry for 1851 - very odd - would be most grateful for the full household details if pos.)

Fascinating stuff Elsabels! It's not difficult to imagine Chester and Chirton being confused ... just a bit old at 35, even allowing for roundings, as she was actually 26/7. However, certainly merits further investigation and a much closer match than I've come up with to date. Appreciate your time and help. Many thanks!

    Hello

if you look at the actual census, the place is not Chester it is CHRITON a transcription error, the age is a iffy looking 25 /35 but if you campare 2/3 on the page then it could be your ancestor!

Thank you Elsabels - there are too many coincidences for it not to be her - I'm not sure I would ever have found her with a transcription error in both the place of birth and age - I take my hat off to your detective work!!! THANK YOU
