Thread: Christ Church Tynemouth, Parish Records

I need information about a marriage which took place at Christ Church Tynemouth and wondered if you could help? It took place on 21st. January 1824 between JOHN MORRIS and ELIZA OWEN.

Do you have a record of this? Is there any other information such as fathers' names/ occupation/ parish of bride or groom? (I think Eliza may have come from London).

I would be most grateful for any assistance.

Hi Gravenor Parish Record JOHN MORRIS & ELIZA OWEN they were married by Banns 21st Jan 1824 and they were both of the Parish of Tynemouth, they were married in the Presence of Ann Scott and John Bruce that is all it will give you as Marriage certificates did not start until 1837 when father's name was put on. Hi Sharron, Thank you so much for this... Their daughter was named Margaret BRUCE Morris so I think the witness John Bruce must be significant. Certainly gives me something new to follow up - very many thanks.

Thanks for confirming this baptism ... Margaret went on to marry Robert Craven, son of William and Hannah of Harewood!!!!
