did you look up in the phone directories of bristol, i know they maybe older people now but rekon you might hit lucky with their families , maybe still alive , try it red70 and see what comes up, its worth a try

We need a little bit more help here. If you know the witnesses are A Edwards and S Webster does this mean you have the Marriage Cert? Does it give the fathers names and ages of both spouses ? Marriage 1938 Britol, is this between a John Robinson and Gwen Crawley ? What is are the parents names on your Birth cert?
