I am looking for the husband of Alice Mary Southcott born 1870, she is the daughter of Daniel southcott & Charlotte.

I have daniel & charlottes family but I cant find Alice and her husband after marriage or any trace of him at all.

    I have the marriage certificate:

May 14th 1894 St Lukes church, Hackney- John robert Haldron, age 24, Bachelor, labourer, & Alice Mary Southcott, age 24, spinster. address at marriage: 7 Holmanwork street?. father - JOHN DIPE? Labourer & Daniel Southcott Clerk.

witnesses: Alfred Murphy & Esther Thompson.

John signs it: JOHN ROBERT WALDERN & alice 'X' her mark.

at ancestry the marriage is listed as John halden, FATHER john dix.

The marriage is listed at FReebmd as John Robert Waldern & Alice Mary Soutchott.

I can not find any birth of John WALDERN or John DIPE, or him and alice on 1901 or 1911 census.

    Alice was born Islington 1870.

In 1871 she was with parents Daniel Southcott (b1834) & Charlotte nee PENNEY (born 1838) & siblings @ Prospect Row, Islington.

In 1881 she was at aunts house Sarah Baker nee southcott @21 brooksbys walk, hackney.

In 1891 alice is single, charwoman age 22. with mother Charlotte, widow @ 1 Pratts Row, Hackney.

    any help greatly appreciated.

On image 19 there is a John Dix written very much the same. I think it was image 15 that there was a deceased one but this was written in the "Rank or profession of father". I think we are still in the dark here.

thanks for looking. I am very confused with this one.

I have searched 1901 & 1911 for alice c1870 born islington with a john or a southcott and found nothing. I have also searched Haldron, waldern, waldron or similar.

I have looked for children born hackney after the marriage and can see nothing that fits with family names.

I have searched for births in london of John Roberts 1870 ish and again drawn a blank.

I cant find alice's mothers death (Charlotte) or the mother in 1901 or 1911 - i wonder if she stayed with daughter and theres some transcription error somewhere.

thanks for taking the trouble to look for me.

    Lisa
