In the 1911 Census my grandmother is working as a dom servant to a church minister. His occ ic ststed as a: Clergyman Established Church.

What was an Established Church? I know she was active in the Salvation Army at some point. Any ideas. The address at the time was the The Rectory Bletchley Buckinghamshire.

The Established Church in the UK is/was Church of England.

If I recall the other religions, Non conformists etc suffered discrimination.......i.e members couldn't hold office / i think the House of Lords and parliament were all CoE

The Established Church means the Church of England which is the "official" church of this country. In Wales it would mean the Church of Wales.

I live in the (Old) Rectory in Bletchley, Buckinghamshire and can confirm that it was Church of England in 1911.
