    Hi All,

I am trying to locate John Lake b.1889 in Middlesex.

His last 'known' whereabouts was 18 Marner Street, Bromley in 1913 (from his daughter's birth certificate).

His wife Choice Mason Lake (Lewis) turns up in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk in 1918, when she has her 1st child with another man - William Benjamin Thomas. She has changed her forename to Alice and has taken the surname Thomas. They didn't actually marry until 1960!!

Whatever happened to John Lake, must have occured between 1913 and 1918, but I cannot find a death.

Would it be possible for someone to have a look at some immigration records for me please?

I realise there are a lot there, but any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    Many Thanks,

Not much help, but I think you can eliminate your man on these two.

    US Naturalization Record for Michigan:

    This is an index card:

    "Lake, John Joseph

    5-27-27

    6-12-1890 BD"

Canadian Passenger List Arrival North Sydney:

John Lake, b. Newfoundland, Canada, was a seaman and travelled quite a bit from Nfld to NS.

Do you know which dates for the other passenger lists you're interested in? There are many John Lakes....

Do you think he could have served in the military?

There are a few WW1 hits for John Lakes, b. Middlesex.

    Hi Jovifan,

Thank you for the look-ups. I've looked at the WWI records, but none of them are our man. I just don't know where to look next!

    Thanks again

    Hello Mrsp

You show John LAKE as being born in Middlesex, do you know the exact area, as I understand that this county also encompasses London

    Hi Elsabels,

John's birth certificate says he was born in the Registration district of Poplar, Sub district, Bromley in the county of London. He was baptised in the parish of Bromley St. Leonard's.

    Many Thanks

    Mrsp
