I am looking for information on Emily Stidolph who was born in the UK in 1826. An Emily Stidolph turns up as an assisted passenger traveling to Austarlia in 1852. Ancestry has the item but no picture of the document. An Emily Stidolph appears in voter lists in Brisbane in early 1900's. I ma wondering all these Emilys are the same. Also looking for any information on her death.

The Emily Stidolph who appears on the Electoral Roll in Queensland is not your Emily. She was born 25 August 1864 in Queensland, parents Robert Frederick Stidolph and Louisa Locke. She had a child Vera Stidolph 8 July 1889 in Queensland who died 23 September 1889. Emily married a Edward Percy Harold Tronson 25 November 1908 in Queensland. She was a Domestic Servant and in 1903 was residing at the Bank Australasia Queen Street Brisbane and in 1913 living at Brisbane Road Ipswich. She died in 1948 in Queensland

I couldn't find her on the Assisted Immigrants lists and I couldn't find a marriage or a death in either Queensland or New South Wales. Could not find her on Assisted Immigrants for Victoria either.

I found her on Ancestry.com on their list of assisted passengers. That's what got me started.

I was looking in the Assisted Passenger lists. I have now found her on the Unassisted Passenger lists into Victoria. Unfortunately I cannot access my CD's for the Victorian BDM for that period, so I can't give you anymore information on her.

    hi

    do you have this...................

Public Record Office Victoria (PROV) holds passenger lists for voyages to and from Victoria up to 1923. Copies of the lists are available on microfiche and microfilm in PROV’s reading rooms at the Victorian Archives Centre and the Ballarat Archives Centre. Microfiche copies of unassisted (1852-1923) and assisted (1839-1871) inward passenger lists are also available at libraries and genealogical centres around Australia. For passenger lists created after 1923 please contact the National Archives of Australia.

The term "unassisted" was used to describe passengers that paid their own fare, to distinguish them from passengers that migrated under sponsorship schemes, known as "assisted" passengers. Inwards assisted and unassisted passenger lists have been indexed and the indexes are available online. Outward passenger lists are in the process of being indexed by PROV volunteers

Thank you every one for your help. I reside in New York, USA, so it will be difficult to visit an Austarlian library. Emily, if it my Emily seems to disappear after 1852. Her niece, also named Emily lived in New York in the late 1800's AS Stidolph is rather uncommon it is usually easy to track a person.

    Robert Stidolph
