    Hi

John Alexander Murray Davidson, B.1825 place not known, was a C of E Reverend, he spent time in Jamaica, married 1st

wife Mary Anne Augusta Neilson 10 th jan 1845, in Jamaica, believe no children.Later married Sarah Parker in Jamaica. All of his children except one Richard Hugh Davidson b. 1859 in Frieston Lincs, were born in Jamaica.

What we have been unable to establish is his birth cert, and the identity of his father, we believe it was Alexander Gray Davidson b. 1781 place not known & married a Keturah Shepherd Devenish, b. Jamaica. What we are desperately seeking is his birth & confirmation of his father.

We believe they were all Scots the Davidson's, and have long links to Jamaica.

Many thanks if you are able to help,

    Jenniewren

Thankyou for the info, we have already done Googlebooks, found lots of info about his time over there, but nothing on birth or father.

Have emailed Crockfords and they will reply when able if they have any info. Have also subscribedto a Jamaica site.

I am descended from Alexander Gray Davidson's daughter Annie Esther and can give you further information about his family if you are interested.

I have his son John Alexander Murray born in 1816 - where did you find the date 1825, I wonder?

    Hi Michael

Thankyou very much, at last a connection, you don't know what this means to my husband, he has really been stumped.

The date of birth was a presumtion, going on the ages of his wives.

Annie Esther m.John Copeland Poole, so you are a direct decendent. The funny thing is for a time they lived just a couple of miles up the road from us in Bletchingley.

What an amazing and interesting lineage.

Any info on J.A.M.Davidson will be very gratefully received. Kevin will be so pleased when he gets home, a missing piece of the jigsaw.

If you like could you email info to his address,Email address removed please use Private message system to pass on Email addresses.

If there is anything we can help you with please ask.

    Many Thanks

    Jennie & Kevin
