Thread: Francis Hoult Fisher b1899

Hi

Francis Hoult Fisher b 26th May 1899 son of Albert & Geraldine Fisher. He was living at 103 Bramley Road North Kensigton in 1911 with his parents and one sister Geraldine and brothers Ernest and Albert. In 1929 he is listed returning to the UK from Canada. He died 10 March 1985, and his death was registered by his son Robert Julian Fisher in Yeovil. Francis was a retired journalist.

What I would like help with is identifying the marriage of Francis Hoult Fisher as I have drawn a blank. Thanks

Francis actually goes back and forth over the Atlantic many times – in 1924 the passenger list shows that he is single – in a 1931 list he is shown as married.



I then discovered an information sheet recording his details on a trip from London to New York in 1946 where he records the name of his wife as Winifred. Bearing this in mind the following link appears to give details of the couple’s final resting place as East Sheen Cemetery.

States wife is Winifred Fisher, Reason for visit to states to cover BOAC Flight

The information regarding the trips across to the states is most interesting as the fact he was buried in East Sheen; particularly as he died in Yeovil. Now I have a marriage window, and his wifes name, I'll now order the certificate.
