Can I get some help please regarding a Thomas Henry Boughton born about 1832 Camberwell..I do have a good deal of info on Thomas and his family but some time after 1861 Thomas left England to start a new life in New-Zealand. Thomas died in Wellington NZ in 1888. I need to know if possible the name of the ship he left England on and if there were any other Boughton's with him..I am also searching for a Walter Sanderson Boughton also born Camberwell about 1860. Walter is recorded as being the son of Adino Boughton and Jane but is not on the passenger list with them as a family when they sailed from England to Auckland NZ..Adino and his wife Jane did have other sons but died as babies.

(Arriving on the barque "Mersey" were Adino,Jane Jane H,Emily,Laura K ??Florence, John)

Walter Sanderson Boughton as recorded in The Evening Post for the area of Welling..Deaths 1886

BOUGHTON, on the 24th July at Awanui East Coast, Walter Sanderson, only son of Adino Boughton aged 26 years

    Many Thanks

    Regards Marion

    Hello

Had a quick look at the census returns etc for this family.....

Did you know that THomas Boughton was a widower on his marriage to Jane? There are quite a few listings under London Churches these also suggest the family were connected to the Stock broking world... it is likely that you will find them in www.timesonline.co.uk archive

Elsabels, I am so sorry but I didn,t know you had replied to my post. Please forgive me for as a rule I answer right away. I was not aware that Thomas Boughton was a widower when he married Jane Henley. You are right when you state about a connection to the Stock Brokers world. I wonder who wife number one was? Banditfivealive, could be a connection but at this stage I,m not sure? It seemed the Boughton's were all Stock Brokers, well most of them that is the men folk of the family.

Elsabels, mix up here.. Yes, I did know Thomas Boughton was a widow when he married for the 2nd time..Wife no 1 was Elziabeth Clark not Jane..Wife no 2 was Harriot Ackley.. Jane Henley was the wife of Thomas's son Adino Boughton Stock Broker.

    Thanks for looking.
