    Hi,

I'm looking for a marriage for Robert Lock b 1855 Ipswich, Suffolk, Eng.

    Father also Robert.

He originally emigrated to Canada 1873.

He returned to Canada in Jan 1881 - destination Quebec.

He married Florence? b Canada 1861 (Canadian English) c1881

They emigrated to USA 1891 via Boston from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island and Halifax, Nova Scotia and finally settled in Braintree, Norfolk, Massachusetts.

    Any help would be appreciated.

This may be your Robert Lock:

Arrived Quebec 4 May 1873, aged 19, on the ship Circassian (Ref. RG76, microfilm C-4528).

Found a burial record of Robert Lock, Woodland Cemetery, Flamborough East, Wentworth, Ontario, Ref. HM-359-2 (you can write for further info to Halton-Peel Branch OGS, P.O.Box 24, Streetsville, Ontario, Canada L5M 2B7).

Could find no ship arriving Quebec in Jan 1881 (1st in Apr that year). Following site may be of interest:

The following from this site - http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/g...y/index-e.html - may be of interest:

    ""Quebec:-

In Quebec, the civil registers of births (baptisms), marriages and deaths (burials), which date from 1621, were duplicate copies of the church registers. All of the pre-1900 records can be consulted at each of the nine regional offices of Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec.

Those registers were microfilmed by the Family History LibraryTM and are available through that institution.

Records dating from 1900 are in the custody of the under-noted office:

    Ministère de la Justice

    Directeur de l'état civil [www.etatcivil.gouv.qc.ca/en/default.html]

    2535, boulevard Laurier

    Sainte-Foy, QC

    G1V 5C5

A general index for marriages and deaths that occurred in the province of Quebec between 1926 and 1994 was prepared by the Société de généalogie de Québec. It is available on CD-ROM and can be consulted in many genealogical societies and libraries.""

Sorry cannot help more just yet, will post anything else I find.
