This question about married or maiden surnames when searching marriage certificates I already know. i.e. both are cited in different registrations.

    So my question is :

When searching for a female DEATH, can you search under her maiden OR married surname ?

Are both married and maiden surnames separately registered ?

    Thank you for any help.

To the best of my knowledge she would be registered in her married name.

I don't think I've come across a death cert that shows maiden name specifically, except in a case where she had reverted to her maiden name.

It's a relatively new practice for divorced women to revert to their maiden name, but widows nearly always keep their married name, unless of course they remarry.

Maiden names aren't indexed, and were only added to death certs from - I think - 1969. As with other information, death cert information (and what appears in the index) is only as good as the informant and the recorder make it.

I do have instances of the wrong initial letter in indexes (my sister-in-law's maiden name is indexed as Searce and not Pearce, for example) so that might be what has happened if you can't find the death you're looking for.
