I am trying without any luck to find info about David Lawrence Little.

familysearch.org lists him as born 1863 in Cumberland, parents John Little and Janet (unknown surname)

David emigrated to New Zealand.

I particularry want to find more about David and his ancestors if possible, I seem to have hit a solid brick wall.

Any help would be most appreciated

Hi,

There's a David Little listed in the 1870 Census for Cumberland. His year of birth is abt 1863, mother Janet, but father James not John. Dont know if this is your David Little.

Very many thanks for replying so quickly, Pebbles and Banditfivealive - I thought you had it cracked until I saw David still listed in the 1891 and 1901 census. It can't be the David I'm looking for as he had come to New Zealand and married here about 1886.

LITTLE is a name common to Cumberland, the IGI entry you quote, is not actually an extract from the Parish record, but an entry made by a fellow researcher......there are a least 7 DAVID LITTLE births recorded in Cumberland that could be your ancestor

2 marriages of a James LITTLE to Janet in the time frame ( neither females have the name LAWRENCE)
