It's back to the drawing board - I thought I had found Benjamin ASHBY in the 1841 Census. I now know that he was not a Grenadier Guardsman in Kensington Barracks as that man died in Service in 1843.
Known Facts:
1815 Feb 26 Maulden Beds. Parish Registry - Benjamin son of John Ashby & Elizabeth baptised.
1849 NOV 18 Twins Benjamin & Joseph born at 17 Hoopers Court, Brompton, (Chelsea) Middlesex, London. Parents Benjamin Ashbey & Eliza Ashbey late Jarvis formerly Burrell.
1851 - The Census shows living at 16 North Street, Chelsea.
Head - Benjamin Ashby age 34 born Bedfordshire, Maulden.
Wife - Elizabeth ASHBY age 32 born Somersetshire, Shepton Mallet.
Dau. - Eliza Jones age 18, Cabmans Wife born - ditto -
Son - Benjamin (a twin) age 16 months born Middlesex Chelsea
Son - Joseph (a twin) age 16 months born Middlesex Chelsea
1884 Aug 18th - Joseph married Margaret Griffiths 23 Lion Buildings, Tufton St, Westminster (Marriage Cert.) My GGF
Please could anyone help trace any of these family members before 1849 or between 1851 and 1884. Note different spelling of Ashby on 1849 Certificult. See also earlier thread. Thank You.
