    Hi Noggin,

William Yeaman Born 1853-Goole England.Lived in Hull.

His father was Joseph mother Sophia(nee Wilson)

Williams Wife(may be?) Living with Williams Parents in 1881 Census her name was Margaret(nee McArdle) Born in Dundalk Ireland in 1855.She had 3 children living there also.

Joseph Born 1879 in Newbridge Ireland

Annie Born 1880 in Newbridge Ireland

William Born 1881 in Cahir Ireland.

Familysearch give the Father as William Yeaman. He was not on the 1881 census and the next one i found him on was 1901 living in Hull with a different wife namedAnna, with a daughter Alice aged 12.It is almost certain its the same William as he was a Bricklayer birth date and place seem correct. To add to the mistery his 2nd wife was German and the daughter was born in India. He seemed to go missing for number of years,Was he in the army in India? who knows.Hope this will help.

have you tried looking to see if he was mistranscribed as "Yeoman", "Yearman" etc?

It does sound as though he moved around a bit. Maybe he was a soldier or worked as a bricklayer for the army, which would explain going to Ireland and India (and possibly Germany). I take it you haven't found his marriages?
