Many thanks - Yes that Joseph (one of the twins) was my GGF, Joseph Henry was my Grandfather.

I am still trying to find out:

    1. where the family lived between 1851 (when they lived at 16 North St, Chelsea) and 1884 (When they lived at 23 Lion Buildings, Tufton Street, Westminster).

    2. When Benjamin ASHBY married Elizabeth JARVIS before 1849

    Best Wishes

    Hello

Silly question? Where does Eliza JONES fit into this Elizabeth would only be 14 when she had her, it could of course be Benjamin's dau from prev marriage?

In the 1841 census there is a Benjamin ASHBY aged 20 at Kensington Infantry Barracks attached to the Grenadier Guards. H107 738...Is this why youu cannot find the family? they were abroad/

    Hello

Yes until last week I thought the Benjamin at Kensington Barracks was the same Benjamin but I have just found out that he enlisted in 1838 at Peterborough and died in service in 1843. So the 1851 Census Benjamin is someone else. I know he was born in Maulden, Beds. Where he was prior to 1849 when the twins were born is still a mystery. Elizas (Mrs Jones) birth 1833 and marriage are also unkown. I need to think again. Also the Ashby/Jarvis marriage.

    Hello Bala

OK it is back to the drawing board...time isn't wasted as at least you know this info needs to go on the strays pile.......

What do you know? I would suggest that you repost and make ref to this post as not being the correct family line.......

The twins...are these your line? and if so at what point do you have a positive on Joseph? See if any members of the site can pick up other info!
