Thread: Englander - England - Florence Walker, can any one help please?

Hi, I am trying to search for Maurice Englander born 1891 in Bradford Yorks, on the 4 December 1909 Maurice joined the RN as a boy sailor.

On the 29 October 1914 Married Florence Walker, both aged 22.at St David COE Highgate. Maurice shotened his surname to England.

He was a painter/sign writer.

My dad Raymond was born on 11 April 1915 (looks like a shot gun job)

Maurice and Florence lived at 211 Barford st, near the Bull Ring.



Apparently he used to preach in the Bull Ring?



I have no information on this family, my farther refused to talk about them and died a few years ago, i would like to know every thing about this family, can any one please help, thank you.



Maurice may have used the names; Morris or Barnett.

Yes, spot on, thank you, there were supposed to be 13 children, l beleve they are all dead, is it possible to help further please,and also where did you find the navy records and do they give a list of ships and a discharge date ? thank you,

It is likely that the name was changed due to the air of uncertainty and the looming war as your ancestor appears to be a German Subject, maybe he applied for naturalisation?

Hi, thank you for the information, Bertha had two children, Morris(Maurice) and Minnie, Morris ran away and joined the RN, When Morris Married Florence Walker in 1914 they lived in Barford st, Birmingham, apparently Florence had 13 Children, some of them are listed above, the family were very poor and Morris turned preacher in the Bull Ring Birmingham, My farther the oldest Raymond born 1915 (looks like Florence was 3 months). I would like to know what happened to Morris and Florence, where and when they died and where they are burried? also the rest of the children.? Hi again, i went on roots chat ages ago trying to trace Barnett Bernhard Englander and Bertha Florence Rosianski both born in Germany and Jews, I have also used Ancestry, i'm not sure if any one else has searched?
